We stopped at Saya first which is an interesting combo of clothing, art, and jewelry.
There we tasted some goodies by The Bohemian Baker.
They also had some wine and beer set up
Then we headed over to Tako Cheena which was the star of the night for me.
First we sampled the homemade tortilla chips and salsa--yum!
We got to sample 3 tacos
The first taco I had was the one one left--a smoked pernil pulled pork taco. It's a Puerto Rican style recipe topped with pickled daikon radish. I think this was my favorite! The one on the right was a panko crusted cod taco with sweet and sour sauce. Once again, delish!
The third taco I had was a Chinese BBQ char siu pork belly taco. It had a boneless cut of fatty meat from the belly of a pig with mixed cabbage, cilantro, ginger, scallions, oil & crispy pork rinds. Soooo good!
For dessert, there was tortilla chips with cinnamon sugar on it!
I have to be honest--if I just randomly walked in to the restaurant, I probably would have walked out without ordering. Just reading the menu, I wouldn't be sure if I would like it. But that's why I'm so glad I get to experience events like these to get me out of my comfort zone. The tacos were AMAZING! I would order all of them again (or maybe be brave enough to try one of the other ones!)
Oh yeah, Snap Studio Booth had a booth set up in Saya so you know we had some fun!
