I was on vacation last Sunday and didn't have a chance to do my weekly recap.  Oops!

We ate at Skull Creek Boathouse for dinner.  It was so nice to sit outside and eat yummy seafood!

We headed the Poseidon Club after dinner for a little dancing.  I felt old, but there's a small part of me that misses my clubbing days!

Sunday--rest

We just had a lazy day and spent time out by the pool.

Every day we head to Pool Bar Jim's for a mid day drink.  His drinks are always served with extra so it's really a 2 for 1!  And I always have to start with a BBC.

Monday--rest

Another lazy day.  This time I had a frozen drink they created for me.

And I saw this little guy--ugh snakes so creep me out.  I had been having a great summer and hadn't seen any on my runs yet and then I see him by the pool!

It was so hot out and there was no breeze.  I checked and it was even hotter than home in Florida.

So pretty though!

We went to Steamer Seafood for dinner--my favorite place to go every year.

Wednesday--rest

We went to the beach in the morning.  I HATE the beach but Kory likes it and my mom loves it so we went and sat with her some.

My final drink of the trip was a banana and pineapple coconut daiquiri.

We had lunch and then left for home, picking up Bella on the way.  (Side note--my parents had a video camera set up to watch the puppies while we were gone and it was so sad.  One of the days she spent a lot of it whining and howling.)

I had a movie date with some of my kiddos from last year to see Minions.

Then a friend and I were going to do some dance classes for National Dance Day but apparently you could register in advance and they were all sold out.  Oops!

Faith, Ava Joy and I had Panera for dinner.  I love that child!

Race #59- Blue Talon Bistro Turkey Trot 5k

The first thing I did when I found out that my family was going to my grandparents' house in Williamsburg for Thanksgiving was to find out if there was a race up there that day!  And I was so glad to find the Blue Talon Bistro Turkey Trot 5k.  It started and ran all through Colonial Williamsburg.

We picked up my race packet and shirt the day before.

The weather was FREEZING! And with 10 minutes before Target closed the night before the race, I realized that I had left my running gloves and ear warmers in Bella's bag at the people who were dog-sitting her.  Ooops! Thankfully, my dad came to the rescue and we rushed to Target with about 3 minutes to spare!

The weather in the morning was in the 30's and right before the race started, it started to rain/sleet so everything was slippery.

I took it a little easier than I normally would have because of the wetness on the cobblestone/brick streets

But it was so much fun to run along a course that I visited so many times growing up.  I really want to run the half marathon that goes through Colonial Williamsburg one day.

My official time was 27:50, my second fastest 5k race at the time.  Not bad!  I was 555 out of 1,824 overall, 175th out of 971 for females, and 26th out of 103 for my division.

Weekly Recap-- July 6-12, 2015

Don't forget, I have a giveaway for 2 Armitron sports watches from Kohl's going on for 2 more days.  Enter here!

Monday--rest

I worked in Tour Guide at the ride.

Tuesday--1 mile in 12:05.  It was Lynn's birthday run so we ran a mile then chatted over coffee at Starbucks.

Wednesday--rest

Thursday--8 miles in 1:28:40 Marathons training week 5 day 2. Ran 34 mins then did 3:1s. Mile 1: 9:52, Mile 2: 9:57, Mile 3: 10:13, Mile 4: 11:09, Mile 5: 12:04, Mile 6: 11:46, Mile 7: 11:51, Mile 8: 11:49, Average Pace: 11:05.  We ran at night and while the temps might have been slightly higher than our normal morning runs, I think the humidity was lower so it didn't feel as bad.

Friday--rest

I worked in Gangster at the ride.

Saturday--5 miles in 54:51.  Marathons training week 5 day 3. Ran 35 mins then did 3:1s. Mile 1: 10:34, Mile 2: 10:29, Mile 3: 10:23, Mile 4: 11:29, Mile 5: 11:43, Average Pace: 10:56.

The new Lilly Pulitzer store in the Mall at Millenia opened today so I had to stop by.  I was good and only bought one tank.

Kory was working so I met up with Heather and Brian at Trader Sam's.  Kory got out early so we decided to all head over to Player 1 to check it out.  It was neat.  There was a huge room with tons of old school arcade games mixed with new gaming stations.  And they had a large variety of beer and ciders.

Sunday--3 miles in 29:06 Marathons training week 5 day 4. Mile 1: 10:04, Mile 2: 9:36, Mile 3: 9:25, Average Pace: 9:42

#MakeYourMove Kohl's Armitron Watches--Review and Giveaway

Part of running is doing training runs.  And I'll admit, I don't always feel like doing them.  But they're so much better when running with a friend.

Thankfully I have a huge group of friends that I run with so there's always someone willing to take on a few miles with me.

One of my best friends, Faith, and I run together quite often.  We have multiple marathons together this Fall/Winter and so running together helps keep us on track and motivated.  And we just plain like spending the time catching up on the events of the past few days!

We're both pretty competitive with ourselves and rely on our watches to keep ourselves on pace.

Yup--we're some of THOSE people. We love keeping an eye on our watches.  So when Kohl's asked me and one of my running partners to try out one of their Active Watches, you know I said yes!

I was sent two of the Armitron Sport Watches for Faith and I to try out.  We tried the Women's Resin Digital Chronograph watches.  We like using the elapsed time to see if we can pick up the pace and make each training run shorter than the last!  #MakeYourMove !

You can also use the watches for lap times, which we do when we're doing speedwork!

And fun fact--Faith is a triathlete and uses the watch to time her laps while swimming! (It's water resistant for up to 100 meters!)

And now for the fun part for you!  Kohl's has provided me with 2 watches for me to giveaway!  One for you to keep, and one for you to give to a friend!
