Disney Dream Cruise--Day 2, April 8, 2013

I've been to Nassau a bunch and Kory's been once or twice so we knew that we didn't want to do much on the island.  We decided to just wake up late then head over to the bar on the island.

Kory woke up early, for some reason, so he headed up to play some basketball.  I lounged around for a little then went up to Cabanas for a late breakfast.

Kory came back and showered and then we got in touch with Natalie and Rafael.  Oh yeah, one of the great things about Disney Cruises are the wave phones.  They're basically cell phones that work on the ship and Castaway Cay.  It was so great to be able to get in touch with Kory if I wasn't with him or with Natalie and Rafael.  Anyways, they were all hungry so we headed back up to Cabanas for lunch.  I was still stuffed so I just took pictures.

There were a bunch of other ships in port

The island

On the way back to the room, we found that the soft serve had banana flavor--my favorite!  Kory figured out to put the soft serve in my drink that I made in my room--pineapple and malibu.  It was delicious! (Another great thing about Disney Cruises is that as long as you carry it on, you can bring alcohol on.  We saved so much money on the bar tab!)

We headed off the boat and over to Senor Frogs.  I've been there a bunch and it's always a good time.  I'm definitely realizing that I'm old though.  Looking around, most people were a lot younger than we were!

I got banana daquiris...yum!

While we were there, they played lots of music and had contests where people could get free shots.  It was funny but not something I was gonna do.  Until the host came around and grabbed me when I wasn't paying attention.  I was so embarrassed!  We had to do scavenger musical chairs.  Basically, one less chair was available each round.  But during each round, you had to get something before racing back to the chair (an autograph from the hostess, bar menu, tequila shot, waitress, empty yard).  And I was safe up until the final two.  Our last challenge was what we thought was "a bald man".  There were two bald men sitting next to each other so we each grabbed one, got tangled up and all headed back to the one seat.  Then this waitress grabbed me and pulled me away.  Apparently it was "The bald manager".  She took me to him.  I brought him back to the seat and won!  I got a free drink out of it!  I was definitely not wanting to do it, but once made too, I was pretty competitive!  It ended up being fun!  Kory took some (not so good) pictures

Then we headed back to the ship.

We changed really quickly and went on the Aquaduck. It's a water roller coaster.  Pretty fun to go on one on a cruise ship!  Then we headed back to the room to relax for a little bit.  I ordered a cheese plate, opened my bottle of wine, and read on the balcony.  Soooo relaxing!!

We got ready to go to the show.  That night's show was Villains Tonight.  I wasn't a big fan of this one.  I don't think the actors fit the characters at all.  And some of the scenes were cheesy and silly.  I'll skip this one if we go back.

We got ready for dinner.  Tonight was the dressier night, but I was saving my nicest dress for the next night at Palo.  Our rotation for the night was Animator's Palate.  Yummy food!

 The menu

I had 2 appetizers: Wild Mushroom Risotto and Porcini Twist and Black Truffle Pasta Purseittes.  Kory had Sesame-Flavored Rock Shrimp and Carmelized Onion Cheesecake.  The Risotto was good but the Black Truffle Pasta was way better!  Kory's wasn't so good.  It tasted like onion cheesecake.  Yuck!

For soup and salad, I got the Creamy Butternut Squash Soup and Kory got Baked Potato and Cheddar Cheese Soup.  Kory's was good, but mine way really yummy!

For the main course, I got the White Shrimp Pennette Pasta and Kory got Ginger-Teriyaki dusted Angus Beef Tenderloin.  I was kinda full by this point so I only ate about half of mine.

I had the Dense Chocolate Cake annnnnd the Creme Brulee from the night before!  And I think Kory had the White Chocolate Brownie Cheesecake.

In the restaurants, there are screens all over.  The characters from Finding Nemo go by and interact with guests like they do at Turtle Talk at Epcot.

It was the night of the NCAA Basketball Championships and we wanted to watch so we headed back to the room to change really quickly.  Towel animal of the night--An elephant!

We decided to head to the sports bar first but it was packed.  So we headed up to the pool deck because they were showing the game on the Funnelvision.  We ran into some royalty on the way.  She was literally in the elevator cove.  No one was there getting pictures with her!

Watching the game on the big screen on the pool deck was really neat.  I didn't really care who won so it was a fun experience (it would have been different if the Gators were in the championship!)  And in the picture below, you can see the Aquaduck on the sides

We headed back to the room after the game was over.  We had to get up early the next morning to run in the Castaway Cay 5k--one of the things I was most looking forward to on the whole cruise!!
