Stitch Fix Boxes #5 & #6

Oops, I did again--I forgot to post my last Stitch Fix box!

Stitch Fix Box #5

I liked most of these but only really wanted to keep one...and I knew right away which one that would be.

First up

Collective Concepts Adelaide Keyhole Blouse-- $68

Looked okay hanging up.

But it turned out to be waaay too long on me.

It was almost in between a top and a dress length.  Not my favorite.  Plus I've asked several times not for anything sheer and that I would need a tank under.  This was sheer and had a big slit in the front.  Sigh.

Verdict: Return

Skies are Blue Nikkita Chevron Textured Blouse-- $68

It's one of my favorite colors

And I liked the pattern

But the back was sheer.  Like above, I don't want anything see-through!!

Verdict: Return

41Hawthorn Dita Colorblock Sleeveless Ponte Dress-- $54

I'd pinned this one a few times on my Pinterest board in different colors so I was super excited to see it!

And I really liked the colors-- I hoped it fit.

And it did!  Yay!  Super cute dress score!!

Verdict:  Keep

Loveappella Shayleigh Shiffon Layer Knit Top--$58

This one looked okay--nothing special.

And it was okay hanging up.

But I did like the way it fitted.  It was cute!  But more than I'd want to spend on such a simple shirt.

Verdict: Return

Skies are Blue Alli Cable Knit Cotton Sweater--$54

I liked the look of this sweater

It was super soft.

But oh look, it's see-through again!!  3 shirts that were see-through!!  Granted, they sent me a white cami that wasn't on the payment sheet that I guessed I could have kept for free if I kept any of those shirts, but nope!

Verdict: Return

Overall--it was an okay box.  I really wish they would listen and NOT send things that are see-through.   However, I was really hoping for the dress to be in the box and it was so I was happy.

The overall total was $302.  If I had bought everything, my total would have been $211.50 but I only kept the dress.

Stitch Fix Box #6

When first taking everything out of the box, my first thought was that I loved almost every piece!  If they fit well, I was thinking that I might have my first box where I bought everything!

Mystree Rue Sleeveless Colorblock Lace Detail Dress--$44

I LOVED the looks of this one!

I loved the black and teal combo and the lace!

But it has that elastic waist again!  And it just looked big and frumpy on me.  Sigh

Verdict: Return

Creative Commune Oswin Lace Detail Blouse-- $58

Again, I loved the look of this one!!

I loved the neckline and the lace!!

But it was just too big in the body for me.  The front could have passed for okay, but you could really tell in the back.  I allllmost kept it, but it was too expensive for me to justify the bagginess.

Verdict: Return

Pixley Priya Plaid Print Mixed Material Top-- $54

I loved the colors of this one--the black and tan and pop of pink!

And I don't really have anything plaid!

But again, it was too big and baggy for me.  So cute though!

Verdict: Return

Pix Lex Mini Chevron Knit Fit & Flare Dress-- $74

Cute!  I liked the print

And the flare..was a little worried about the waist though

But nope!  It was the only item that fit perfectly.  The only was I just couldn't justify spending that much on a casual dress.  Maybe if it was fancier but it wasn't.  I went back and forth a lot, but decided

Verdict: Return

Collective Concepts Zoey Mixed Material Watercolor Print Top--$44

I wasn't sure about this one at first.  It seemed a little like an old ladies top

And oh look--it has a slit down the front so I'd have to wear a tank.

But I liked the sleeves and the overall fit.  And the print grew on me.  I went back and forth again.  I didn't want to just lose out on my $20 styling fee and of the two cheaper items, I liked this one better.

Verdict: Keep.

Overall---I was so hoping these would fit.  Not sure why everything was so large this month.  A friend suggested that's the style but it just doesn't work for my body.

My total was $274 and would have been $190.50 with the discount if I bought everything.  Since I didn't LOVE anything like I did last box, I pushed my next one off to come in 6 weeks instead of 4.

Did I make the right decisions?  What do you think?

  1. I did Stich Fix a few times a couple years ago, and it sounds like the boxes have improved since then. My friend got a gorgeous leather jacket in her most recent box and I love that you're getting dresses! That's something I never got. Might have to consider doing it again, but everything just seems so expensive (still) that I have a hard time justifying starting again! You got some great stuff though! Glad you found a few keepers :)

  2. I love seeing other people's fixes!
I got one fix over the summer, and loved how everything looked when it got here, but nothing really fit right so the only thing I kept was a necklace, for $32 which I saw on Zulily a few weeks later for $12!!
This was the same time the whole Nordstrom Rack shorts thing was going around so I just cancelled my fixes.
While the clothes are cute, the prices just don't work for me.

  4. The Dita Colorblock dress is adorable and it's Gator colors (or at least it seems like the right colors on my screen..LOL)....double win! Glad you kept it! Good choice! Haven't tried Stitch Fix yet. Just doesn't seem to be my thing yet, but I like seeing other people do it!
